Quaint C.1900 hand painted antique cream kidney shaped dressing table or vanity with chair from France. Gorgeous deep old gilt hand painted wide border on top with two circular garlands either end depicting long ago garden scenes and long dress of the day within the swags. Bouquets of roses along side the border. Originally had fabric sides and back according to the nail holes tacked on the apron just under the top on three sides,easily replicated with new fabric creating a feminine dressing table or for use as shown. Choose one of the gorgeous colors in the painting and match to silk or other fabric. Gather fabric with a basting stitch or by hand and turn under the raw edge at top and tack with upholstery tacks just under the overhang of the top after the bottom is hemmed. One center drawer with additional floral design and pale blue border which is carried over to the knees as well. Turned spindle legs. The sturdy matching chair has a carved protruding vase of roses on the upper back. Newly covered seat is antique fabric or rose,blue,gold and yellow surrounded with a wide gilt gemp edging. Wood seat beneath thick padding. Reeded two front legs. Both in extremely good condition,all hand painting intact with only minor scuffing to the painted legs. Vanity table measures 34L X 29.5H X 18W. Chair is 33.5H X 16.5L X 15.5D. Set works well with 2 mirrors listed on-site,one blue and cream BR3311 or gesso hand painted BR3307 shown in photos.
