Desk Book Box Burl Inlay England 19th Century

Handsome burl box booked and matched from England 19th century. Inlaid with satinwood along the spine and two front corners of the lid appearing as a wooden book. The lap desk sides and interior are of maple all hand made. Small solid brass hinges. Some couples of the 19th century used as a family Bible box,others as a stationary desk box much as a lap desk filled with the inks, pens and stamps. A handsome piece for whatever purpose in home,desk or office. all in excellent condition. Measures 10L X 9D X 2.5.
