Hand colored English engraving from the 19th century James Audubon,the original of which hangs in the National Gallery of Art in Washington as a gift from Mrs. Belknap James,1945 in memory of her husband,Dr. Walter James and his brother Norman James. Titled "Yellow Breasted Chat",Plate No. 28. Gorgeous coloring in the yellow and black birds,female in nest of a Sweet Briar Rose in bloom. Titled below with roman numerals corresponding to each bird.Information on the engraver and hand colorist at the bottom as well. Excellent condition. Measures overall 39H X 26W.
