Gorgeous papier mache double inkwell from 19th century Louis XV France. Inlaid with beautiful tones of mother of pearl and hand painted with gilt scrolling and floral. Four large graceful raised feet. Upper wide tray for pens.Two glass round shoulder inkwells with brass caps and interior brass collar on the bottles which are housed in square compartments lined in the old French blue velvet. Decorative reeded medallion between and topped with large fleur de lis.Excellent condition,all painting and mother of pearl intact,measures 13L X 9.5D X 4H.
