Large very attractive mid 19th century Scottish game board for chess,checkers or many other games is actually reverse painting on glass with gorgeous yellow floral and diamond border against a blue background with four corner darker floral paintings. The playing board has been painted with a marbleizing effect on the darker blocks of black and white. Framed in a wide walnut and ebony block frame. Wonderful for game playing and makes an excellent wall display when not in use with the addition of two hangers on the thick wood backing. In excellent condition with exception to a very few minor cracks in the paint which should cause no concern of worsening. Measures 22.5H X 22 L X 1.5D.
