French architectural shelf 19th century carved

Unique French early 1800's carved deep shelf with scrolled long sides below and mediallions on either side. An excellent architectural piece to display a wonderful piece of art work,sculpture or planter filled with greenery on the shelf above and show casing a pair of framed pictures or one large painting within the side walls of the shelf over a chest,etc. The front hand carving is of acanthus leaf garlands with a mythological face at the center and surrounded with short shaped reeded architectural elements on either side. Two large hooks on the back for hanging. Original paint has minor wear. Measures 21H X 27.25L X 18D.
