A plain tapering round dish rimmed with four finely cast applied figural masks. Bowl supported by four caryatids mounted on round plinth with each holding a continuous band of undulating swag decoration. Smaller plinth bases surrounding larger round plinth decorated with a cast winged putto.
Date marked "B", 1869 with early Gorham stamp marks
Note: Breaks and bends to portions of swag decoration. No signs of previous repair or removed monogram.
Bowl measures 11" across top rim, 2" deep. Overall height 7 1/2"
