Colt Model 1860 Army Revolver, Serial #92639 - with Colt authenticity letter. All original and matching except wedge SN2608. Beautiful martial Civil War(1862-3) inspected (most parts are sub-inspector initials and stocks are well cartouched.) Cylinder has traces of blue in protected areas plus fully discernable 'naval battle' scene. VG-F, barrel has 20-30% bright blue bright blue especially in protected areas above loading arm, frame and hammer muted cast colors, back strap has 10% blue, grips are fine with well defined inspector cartouches. Mechanically revolver shows only moderate use and is a solid example of a Civil War US Cavalry issued side arm. Wedge being only 30 numbers opposite is not unusual on martials used in the war. This gun was inspected by John Sexton and the foregoing statement is his descriptive analysis.
The Colt Army Model 1860 is a muzzle-loaded cap & ball .44-caliber revolver used during the American Civil War, made by Colt's Manufacturing Company.
