Sign In to see what this sold for

Surgeon's/Doctor's Kit, German, WWII - Formerly owned by German POW B-257482 Dr. Albert Bisping, who was a prisoner at Camp 165 Watting prison in 1947-1948.
Size: H. 12 W. 9 D. 4"
Weight: 7 pounds
Condition: very good condition with much of the original contents intact.
This is a full medical kit that contains numerous period surgical and medical tools, as well as the original German manufacturers list of contents dated 1938. The kit is quite comprehensive, and still contains much of the original medication and supplies that came with it originally, many of them still sealed. Still retains key for outside lock upon the outside of the leather case. This kit comes with a book entitled "Camp 165 Watten", in which there is an entire chapter dedicated to the owner Dr. Bisping. There is also a binder with several photos documenting the interior contents of the case. Camp 165 Watten was one of the most secretive POW camps in the UK, and held some of the most high ranking Hitler aides captured during the war. This Doctor's kit is an amazingly well-preserved piece of history from that era. Note: all items inside the case are not for internal use or consumption, for display only
Provenance: Miki and James J. Mangan III of Fairfield, CT
