Flask, German 143 Regiment, ceramic, shoulder cord & pewter cap, 1900-1902. Pewter flask & cap, with colorful ceramic inset. Transfer pint with hand painted color details. Original decorative twisted three color cord hangar.
Size: H. 8" x D. 4 3/4" Weight: 10.6 ounces Condition: Overall very good noting slight denting on rim of metal encasing porcelain, split in screw cap cup 5/8"long, tiny chip on threads of porcelain screw top. ************************************************************ The 143rd Regiment was part of the 30th Division. The division served in World War I on the Western front. It saw action in the Battle of the Frontiers and in the Race for the Sea. It fought in two major battles of 1916, the Battle of Verdun and the Battle of the Somme. In 1917 it fought in the Second battle of the Aisne and the tank battle of Cambrai. In 1918 it fought in the Battle of Champagne-Marme and the Second Battle of Cambrai. Until the last campaigns of the war, the division was regarded as a first class division.
