Hand wrought hilt, Spanish Colonial Saber with single edge blade having a hollow ground fuller to within 6.5" from the lower end. The blade is fixed rigid to the bowl by means of a rabbet cut into an extended bolster of the cup guard. A wood grip has a leather finger loop at its base for better controlling the weapon. Late 18th century.
