The original Roux work resides in the collection of the Peabody Museum, Salem, MA. A unique portrayal showing a barrel-like structure has been built around her hull for rolling the vessel back into deep water after completing the cleaning of her hull. 'Eunice', built at Barnstable, MA. in 1803, is depicted, according to family tradition, an actual event which took place on the island of St. Paul in the Indian Ocean in 1817. 'Eunice' was owned at the time by Joseph Ropes, Moses Townsend and others.
