Antique Pipe Tampers (2), Whaler made 1871 Scrimshaw Ivory. One is inscribed "D.C.C 1871, Ship Star" in the "Saucy Sally" leg shape design, and the other has the initials "M.L.". Both are in the shape of a female leg, with intricate carving and cross-hatched tamping surface. NB the ship 'Star' built in 1861 in Yarmouth, Maine, built by S. C. Blanchard and owned by the same. In 1871 the Captain is listed as Vianello.
