Peace Medal, Ulysses Grant, 1871, Silver plate over bronze or copper with a cord having brass beads attached to a custom made silver loop that appears original. Over a hundred years ago, Indian Traders ordered copper collector-strike medals from the Mint, had them silver-plated, and traded them to the Indians. This is very likely one of those medals. Specific gravity test was done to determine it was not solid silver. This is a rare piece with great Native American ties and although it shows some signs of wear remains in extra fine condition.
