Coconut Shell Carved, Silver Rim, elephant ivory feet. 19th century, has elaborate carvings of various Asian deities along face of shell, along with intricate patterns. Ivory feet and lip topper and solid silver ring on top edge of bowl indicate a very high quality artist. Possibly Indian or more likely Indonesian. Provenance: Miki and James J. Mangan III of Fairfield, CT Size: H. 6.5" x D. 4.25" Weight: 6.8oz Condition: very good, some slight tarnish upon silver edge.
