Pre-Columbian Olmec Stone Jaguar Head Hacha (Axe). Pre-classic 300-100 BC, jaguar head with a pursed mouth, upturned nose, and deeply sunken lower jaws and eye sockets. In speckled gray hard stone with several areas of earthquake damage aged over with 2000 years of burial patina. From an archeology professor's collection gathered in the 1930's. Hacha drilled and mounted on a heavy, black base.
