Sepik River Wooden Canoe Prow of a Hook Design was a favorite of the Yiman people of PNG. these figures are called Yypo and were spiritual aids for hunting and the late 19th-early 20th century. A well-known image from Cook's Voyages shows this in use as figurehead on a Fiji was canoe.
