PAUL JACOULET - LETTER TO US COLONEL WWII ERA SIGN A unique letter signed by Paul Jacoulet (French artist, 1902-1960). Dated February 11th, 1946 from Jacoulet to US Colonel Schwichtenberg (a US Ear Nose & Throat Doctor) who was to see Jacoulet regarding a throat ailment which other doctors had not been able to diagnose. Col. Schwichtenberg was assigned to the area following WWII. The letter is accompanied by the original envelope, which is in fair condition - having signs of wear. From the letter, transcribed as written by Jacoulet: "Dear Colonel Schwichtenberg, I am taking the liberty to send you this note only to tell you that I shall arrive in Tokio tomorrow, the 12th....I will stay at the Marunouchi Hotel only for some days, and be very glad if you can I can have the pleasur to see you..... Comdt. Durand told me that some of your friends as Lieutenant Knox ad a Doctor Colonel who was very much interested in drawings and prints wanted to see me....I one t tell you that I shall be delighted to meet them, and to show them the prints I will bring with me.... Except on the 15th. I am always in the afternoon at the hotel, and if you can find a little moment to drop and see me I will be very grateful to you....my throat is always bad...it makes now seven months, and not one doctor here can tell what it is.... I hope you are always well, keeping busy, and thanking you in advance I am dear Colonel Schwichtenberg, always yours truly Paul Jacoulet" Size: 7.5 x 10.5"
