AMERICAN MILITIA FIELD OFFICER'S SWORD Circa 1830's American Field Officer's Sword. 32" single edged straight blade with faded yet still visible intricate blue-gold etching from hilt to tip. Folding clamshell counterguard covers an etched ricasso, and is decorated with a brass eagle and an accompanying female freedom figure. The guard has more floral designs with another figurine. A wire bound mother of pearl grip is topped off with a knights-bust pommel. Overall good condition, tarnish and rust towards the tip of blade.
