Vintage 1971 Vanguard Studios (Beverly Hills, CA) Wall Art Sculpture . Vanguard Studios was a production company that made props for movies and plays. The molds were destroyed after making each one-of-a-kind art piece. It is made of solid core Vanathane, which is similar to Styrofoam, but used explicitly for sculptures. The sculpture appears to be made of a real heavy sculpture made of wood, but actually it is light for it’s size due to the material used in the production. The company was in business from 1967 - 1972,From 1971 antique ornately sculpted Hot Air Balloon, flat on the back (suitable for hanging on the wall. Dimensions 26" by 15" by 8 deep.
