Large Porcelain Statue of Confucius, The piece exhibits signs of pre-Ming dynasty origin, and has telltale firing flaws characteristic of wood fired kilns and red on the edges of the statue denoting the era of Ming and pre-ming dynasty. The mark on Confucious' cloak is from Southern and Northern Dynasty 420-618 BC. His cloak is adorned with dragons in beautiful cobalt blue under glaze From the estate of an American diplomat who brought it here from China 50 years ago. Wt 1 ½ lbs. K3W611BL
