MATISSE color lithograph from the deluxe French art review VERVE; pulled on the presses of Mourlot in Paris in 1937 for the inaugural issue of Verve, this is the back cover of Verve Volume I Issue One for which Matisse created the design specially for Verve; printed on very heavy stock and measuring 11.5" x 14"; The Atelier Mourlot was the leading lithographic printer of the 20th century, famous for printing the posters and lithographs of such artists as Picasso, Chagall, Miro, Braque, Leger, Matisse and others. **this is a nicely preserved example of this 74 year old piece. FRAMED and professionally matted.
