(lot of 4) W Ridgeway & Son ceramic jugs, 19th c., three moulded in relief and one with painted decoration, including: (1) 'Tam O'Shanter pattern, after Robert Burns poem, Tam O'Shanter is shown being chased by witches and goblins after a night of drinking and merriment at the pub, impressed underfoot W. Ridgeway & Son, Hanley, Oct. 1, 1835, a pewter cover surmounting the jug completely decorated with figural scenes, figural handle on a shaped pedestal foot, 10"h; (1) salt glaze jug having gilded trim, decorated with birds and flowers, impressed Published by Ridgeway & Son, Hanley, Oct. 1, 1835, very minor loss/chip on underside handle, 9.5"h; (2) jugs showing jousting knights, the larger in blue, 10.5"h, the smaller white, 9.5"h, each with impressed Ridgeway marks, date of 1840; 14lbs total Start Price: $150.00
