Impressive gilt brass, copper and cut glass platform ink stand, J G & Sons, Birmingham, late 19th/early 20th c., the substantial cut glass inkwell having gilt brass lid surmounted by the figure of a deer, precisely fitted to the center of the elaborate platform stand decorated with putti masks and scrolled detail and set with four repousse copper plaques depicting wildlife scenes of deer, rabbits, quail and ducks, rising on four pierced feet, base stamped JG & Sons 109, some pitting with age, deer antlers reduced/with loss as pictured, overall: 9"h, 13"diam, 6lbs (Birmingham identification as listed by the Birmingham Assay Office, http://www.silvermakersmarks.co.uk/Makers/Birmingham-J.html) Start Price: $200.00
