Chain: 20" Sterling Silver Necklace. Measures: 1.1" Tall x .60" Wide. Metal: 18kt Gold Border. These silver coins with various punchmarks are the earliest silver Indian coins. Magadha was an ancient kingdom in India, mentioned in both the Ramayana and the Mahabharata. It was also one of the four main kingdoms of India at the time of Buddha. The core of the kingdom was that portion of Bihar lying south of the Ganges. Most of these historic coins were later melted down, and surviving examples are quite scarce. Mounted coin in a custom 18kt gold border, complete with a 20" sterling silver necklace. Pendant measures slightly over 1 inch tall.
