Chain: 18" Sterling Silver Necklace. Measures: .85" Diameter. Metal: Handcrafted Sterling Silver Frame. This beautiful coin is a silver drachm dating back to 38 B.C. The coin was minted under the rule of Phraates IV, ruler of the kingdom of Parthia. Parthia was an Iranian civilization that existed from 247 B.C. to 220 A.D. Little is known about the Parthians, but they built an Eastern superpower that occupied much of the Middle East and southwest Asia. They were a kingdom of horse-warriors that defeated Alexander the Great`s successors, the Seleucids. This coin measures 3/4 inch in diameter and is set in a handcrafted sterling silver frame. Comes complete with an 18" sterling silver necklace, descriptive brochure, and Certificate of Authenticity.
