Early 19th Century Sarah Butler Embroidered Butler Family Genealogy Register Sampler. The early silk embroidered on a homespun linen ground family register reads "By the name of Butler" and lists the Butler family starting with Sarah Butler Born in 1796. The sampler has a stylized floral and leaf border and included is her marriage date and her children's birthdates. The sampler also has an embroidered death date of Sarah Butler by a different hand, in the same style,, dated 1829. The sampler was once mounted with a glued edge on paper, but has now been loosened from the paper mount. The sampler is in good condition with only some light toning. Measures 17" high x 12 ½" wide. Framed in a simple black painted frame which measures 17 ¾" by 13 ½".
