William John Whittemore (American 1860-1955) "On the Road to the Beach". Oil on canvas. Signed indistinctly on lower right "WM. J. Whittemore". The painting has recently been professionally cleaned and is in good condition. Retains the original period frame. This painting was obtained from the Vanderveer estate in Bridgehampton, New York. Measures 17" high x 21" wide. Frame measures 21 ½" high x 25 ¾" wide.
