Wm. J. Whittemore 1860-1955 Self Portrait Painting

William John Whittemore A.N.A. (American 1860-1955) Title inscribed on Mrs. Frank C. Carr calling card on reverse and inscribed in pen “Self portrait by William. J. Whittemore”. Oil on masonite. Signed lower right “W. J. Whittemore”. The painting depicts a happy young child in a white dress seated in a wicker rocker. The oval format painting, is in good condition with no repairs. From the Vanderveer estate in Bridgehampton - Long Island, NY. The other Whittemore painting # 69 is from the same estate. Measures 13” high x 9 ¾” wide. The original frame measures 16 ¾” high x 13” wide.
