Elisabeth Mott 1800 ABC Sampler Animals & Figures

Elisabeth Mott dated 1800 Embroidered Alphabet Sampler with Figures. The silk on linen sampler has a single archaic style alphabet at the top with stylized figures of birds including peacocks, different breeds of dogs, a milkmaid and a man wearing pantaloons, possibly holding a hawk. It is signed on the bottom Elisabeth Mott? And what is possibly her age 12". Then the date 1800 and M. Johnston. The sampler is in fair condition with some browning mostly along the edges. It is" tacked to the edge of a wooden backing. There is some loss, mostly in the top right area and some nail holes on the edges. Measures 13 ½" high x 11 ½" wide. Mounted in a black painted frame which measures 15" high x 12 ¾" wide.
