Two Early 19th Century Ancestral Silhouettes. The first silhouette is a hollow cut and watercolor woman identified on reverse as Abbie Simmons with the original lemon gold frame with eglomise surround. Good overall condition with light age wear. Image measures 4” high and 3 ¼" wide. The lemon gold frame measures 5 ½” high and 4 ½” wide. The second silhouette is of a gentleman inscribed Peter Cooper on reverse with additional information; came over in 1632 on the “Susan & Ellen” aged 28. Born in 1607 and died June 15, 1667. Silhouette probably taken from a 17th century portrait and dates to early 19th century. Image measures 3 ¼” high and 3” wide. Painted black frame measures 5” x 4 ½”. Both to be sold together as one lot.
