William Moore Davis (American 1829-1920) “Self Portrait” Oil on canvas. Portrait is of William M. Davis and has a background of Port Jefferson, NY harbor and is signed on the front ”W.M. Davis Artist Painter of a Village of Port Jefferson and its Harbor”. The painting has been relined, cut down and mounted to a later stretcher. Blacklight reveals no inpainting or touchup. Encased in an oak Victorian frame. Measures 21 1/8” high x 18 5/8” wide. Frame measures 26 ¾” high x 24 ½” wide.
