The effectiveness of American Pilots flying from bases on Guadalcanal was a key element to the success of the Pacific Campaign. Here a Navy SBD Dauntless lifts off the dirt runway at Henderson Field. Navy, Marine and Air Corps pilots all made up the Cactus Air Force based on "The Canal".  It was Personally autographed by Cactus Air Force Pilots Hal Buel and Ralph Weymouth.  L/E of 1100 and it's signed and numbered by David Poole.  It's image size is 25" x 19" and the paper size is 31" x 25 1/2".  This print has never been mounted or framed and is in excellent condition. * *
