With engraved title page vignettes and 116 of 127 folding plates illustrating many of the new instruments employed by Gravesande and invented by his contemporary, Jan van Musschenbroek. Wear to boards with some loss; spine labels chipped; bookplates and manuscript ex-libris to front pastedowns; a manuscript marginalia; some light toning; otherwise fine.
