Framed set of three(3) pencil drawings, ''The Camping Trip,'' 1899, by Charles Marion Russell (American, 1864-1926), each signed and dated in pencil, sight dimensions (left to right): 5.5''h x 8.5''w/7.5''h x 6''w/5.5''h x 8.5''w, overall: 11.125''h x 30.125''w. Provenance: Gift to Dr. John Louis Weitman (1855-1908) from the artist. Dr. Weitman resided in Great Fall Montana from 1889 until 1907 whereupon he moved to Oakland, California until his death. Weitman and Russell were lifelong friends and are depicted in these scenes from a camping trip they took in Montana in 1899. Descended through the family to one of Dr. Weitman's grand daughters (Maralee Hinman, Weaverville, CA). Accompanied by several period, person items and letters of Dr. Weitman's. Exhibited: C. M. Russell Museum, Great Falls, MT (1957 and 1985/87)
