Red and white glass vase, Kyohei Fujita (1921-2004), of frosted translucent glass mottled with bands of opaque white and red flecks, the ovoid body with a flat circular base and flaring to a pinched neck below a square-form mouth; the original accompanying box (tomobako) inscribed 'Tebuki/hanabin/Kyohei saku' and with one seal, 8.25''h; Provenance: from the artist to Mrs. Tamiko Mitsui to Yori Mitsui (her son) to Mrs. Misako Mitsui (his wife). Kyohei Fujita received the Lifetime Achievement Award from the United States Glass Art Society and the Japanese Order of Culture.
