MASSIVE EMPEROR AND EMPRESS IVORY CARVED TUSKS

Pair of very large elephant ivory hand carved Chinese tusk figures. Each depicts an Emperor and Empress. The emperor holding ceremonial sword and wearing beaded necklace. The Empress is depicting holding ruyi scepter with hanging tassle. Each figure is wearing layered robe with intricate water and fire design with lotus blossoms. Each is fully relief carved with fine detail. Both pieces signed to base. 19th century. Each measures approximately 24 3/4" height + 2 3/4" height (62.8cm + 6.9cm). Total weight approx. 14.2 pounds.
