Depicted is the Qian Men archery tower that was connected to the Zheng Yangmen gatehouse. Both guarded the direct main entry into the imperial city of Beijine and were first built in 1419 during the Ming Dynasty. Artwork is done in elephant tusk ivory amd depicts main entire building with military guards. Aged patina with some polychrome artform.
29 1/2" high; 40" wide; 23" deep on wood stand.
