English Silver Fusee Pocket Watch by A. Hollisone: Alex Hollisone of Liverpool made this KW&S with crown escapement watch; the hand pierced cock is openwork carved; the plate engraved with the makers information plus the No. 4298 is in a narrow field. This style of work is circa 1675 to 1720 or so. The London made sterling silver case the movement is in is post-1821 because that is the year the leopard crown was removed. We are thinking the original case got damaged badly enough that the owner had a new case made for it sometime after 1821. The actual date for the case has not been established. The watch is running and has a key with it; the hands look handmade.
