Condition reportExcellent condition Note: Jane studied painting at the famed Académie Julian in Paris. She made many paintings of the hills around their Montecito home, often accompanied by her artist friends like Leonard Lester, Birge Harrison, and Bolton Brown. Another example of her style is reproduced in ''Byrdcliffe; An American Arts and Crafts Colony'' 2004, Cornell page 187, catalogue #79. A photograph of the Arcady orchard viewed from almost the same vantage point as that of Jane's painting is reproduced in the same catalogue on page 18 (fig. 3.)
