Description: The Alien Certificate, with a photograph of Mrs. Tcheng, indicates she arrived in the UK in 1947, with the certificate issued March 1948. The Passport, issued in New York in 1954, contains a different photograph.Interesting documentation of the tumult which occurred in China after World War II, as the Communist forces defeated the Nationalists, and many were forced to flee. The passport was renewed several times, and she seems to have gone to Canada at one point, perhaps for visa renewal.
