Author: Robinson, Charles Description: Includes: Commission from the Illinois Volunteers appointing Robinson First Lieutenant of Co. A of the 139th Regiment of the Illinois Volunteers. June 14, 1864. * Certificate from the United States Volunteer Service giving recognition of his service of 100 days in assistance of General Sherman's campaign. Printed facsimile signatures of Edwin M Stanton and Abraham Lincoln. December 15th 1864. * Muster-In Roll for his enlistment as a Captain in the 8th Regiment of U.S. Colored Artillery. Partially printed document completed by hand. Signed by Col. H.W. Barry.Also included are several post-war photographs of Robinson and his family, and a silhouette portrait of Robinson. Robinson settled in Auburn, California in the years following the war.
