Author: ** Description: Pressed metal with central thermoplastic pictorial badge stating "Organized November 6th, 1901" and depicting a miner with his lantern, mine in background; affixed to red cloth backing lettered in silver stating "Storey County Labor Union." 12x6 cm. (4¾x2½").Rare membership badge in the Storey County, Nevada, Labor Union. Manufactured by the Whitehead & Hoag Co. in Newark, New Jersey, where all goods were guaranteed, thankfully, to be Union Made. Storey County is home to Virginia City, Gold Hill, and the Comstock Lode, and union members would have been primarily involve in mining.
