First Edition.A rare early imprint in the career of Thaddeus Stevens, the future "Radical Republican" of Civil War and Reconstruction days, who would spearhead the impeachment of President Andrew Johnson. In this pamphlet, Stevens, as a state Representative, expresses his minority-of-one view of the "Buckshot War", in which violent political rivalry led a mob to besiege the Legislature at Harrisburg, forcing Stevens to escape through a window.
