(8vo) original brown cloth stamped in gilt, black, and blind. Fifth Edition.Plates are mainly full-page and are included in the pagination. Extra plate "Confederate Chieftains," inserted at p. 389, engraved by J.C. Buttre and dated 1864. Rand McNally Texas map at rear dated 1880, the other map - "Texas in 1834" - shows the 14 Emprasario Grants in red outline. Howes says "Useful for its biographies . . ."
