John Robinson Frazier (American, 1889-1966)

Academic Study of a Male Nude. Bears signature and inscription "John Frazier/RSDI DS" in pencil l.r., with a note on provenance from the present owner affixed to the reverse. Graphite on paper, sight size 24 x 18 in., matted, unframed. Condition: Minor staining, tear l.r., subtle handling creases, foxing.

Provenance: Through the artist's widow, Mary Frazier; private collection, Johnston, Rhode Island.

N.B. Frazier was a 1912 graduate of the Rhode Island School of Design, and later president of the school from 1955 to 1962.
