ANASAZI INDIAN RELIC JEWELRY

Lot Passed

Chain: 20" Sterling Silver Necklace. Measures: 1" Tall x .75" Wide. Metal: Sterling Silver. The Anasazi people are known to the Navajo as the "Ancient Ones". Inhabitants of a region from Arizona to Colorado, they flourished in the American southwest until the 1300's. Either because of climate changes or pressure from other cultures, Anasazi society collapsed and the population disappeared. The earliest pottery had black designs on white or light gray backgrounds, later evolving into reddish brown ware in the 13th century. Historic Anasazi pottery shards were collected from private lands in Colorado, New Mexico, and Arizona. Jewelers have handcrafted each piece of 800+ year old pottery into distinctive one of a kind pendants. Pendant comes on a 20" sterling silver necklace. Piece is accompanied with a Certificate of Authenticity and descriptive brochure.
