Cooper (Thomas) Thesaurus Linguae Romanae & Britannicae, John Mynshull or Minsheu's copy, with his signature on title, woodcut device of the bear and ragged staff within the Order of the Garter on title (dedication to Robert Dudley, Earl of Leicester), title stained and soiled, last 2 ff. creased and soiled, last f. torn and repaired and laid down, some staining in text (including title), some ink marks, browned throughout, other ink signatures including "George Gibson 1784" on title, later endpapers, ex-Leicester City Libraries label on front pastedown recording that this volume was rebound in 1931, 20th century library morocco-backed cloth, upper cover almost detached, rubbed, [STC 5688], folio, [Henry Denham], 1578. ***Probably John Minsheu (1559/60-1627), lexicographer..
