Shakespeare (William) [The Histories, except Henry V, extracted from the Fourth Folio], pp.1-88 & 111-232 only (with only first and last pages of Henry V present), cropped shaving fore-edge of some leaves and affecting a few head-lines and catchwords, some water-staining and other stains, Dd1 and Hh4 both torn and repaired, modern panelled calf ruled and tooled in blind, by Bernard Middleton, upper cover with titles of the plays in gilt within central panel, spine with five raised bands, signed by Middleton in pencil at foot of rear free endpaper, very slight rubbing to edges of boards, folio in 6s, [for H.Herringman, E.Brewster, and R.Bentley], [1685]. ***Shakespeare's history plays, comprising: King John, Richard II, Henry IV Parts I & II, Henry VI Parts I, II & III, Richard III and Henry VIII. The Fourth Folio was the last of the great 17th century folio editions of Shakespeare's complete plays. It was a reprint of the Third Folio of 1663, with corrections and modernizations..
