Battle of Waterloo.- The Book of Common Prayer inscription recording the ownership of this volume as a soldier who was killed at the Battle of Waterloo, margins trimmed, several ink inscriptions at beginning and end, [ESTC lists the BL copy only], Cambridge, by John Archdeacon, Printer to the University, and Sold by John, Francis & Charles Rivington and others, 1780 bound with [Vickers (William)] A Companion to the Altar, engraved frontispiece, lacks A1 (?blank), [this edition not listed in ESTC], 1782, ink inscriiption on front free endpaper: "E.E. Newton from Mrs. Johnson", printed exhibition catalogue number, contemporary red straight-grained morocco, gilt, dulled, edges rubbed, g.e., 12mo. ***Inscriptions read: "This book was the proprty of Corpl James ?Whooe of The Royal Regiment of Horse Guards Blue He was kild at the Battle of Waterloo in the year of 1815 French Flanders" [&] "This prayer book together with the other relics (star, candlesticks & history) were on view at the Waterloo Exhibition 1890 Catalogue Number 68"..
